BELIEFS

  • BAPTISM

We believe that the symbol of baptism is a command from Jesus for every believer. We practice “believer’s baptism” not “infant baptism”. We believe the mode of baptism is “immersion” since the Greek word for “baptism” means “to immerse”. We believe that baptism does not save a person nor does it wash away any sins (Jesus does both). We believe that baptism is a symbol of one’s faith and symbolizes the death of one’s old life and the resurrection of their new life in Christ.
    (Matt. 28:18-20; Rom. 6:3-5)

  • BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word; that it is inerrant and perfect in every way. We believe that the Bible leads us, guides us, encourages us and convicts us. It is our lifeline to God and reveals God’s purpose for our lives.
    (Psalm 1:1-2 & 119:105; Hebrews 4:12)

  • CHURCH

We believe that the church represents the local group of believers as well as well as believers around the world. All believers are “the church”. It is not the building that makes the church but the people who have believed in Jesus for their salvation.
    (I Corinthians 12:27)

  • GOD

FATHER: We believe that God was, He is and will always be. We believe that He created each of us in His own image. He is the creator and the One who controls all things.
    (Gen. 1:1; 1:26; Jeremiah 1:4-5)

  • HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit of God. He comforts, convicts, leads, guides, encourages and walks with every believer in Christ. He is “Jesus” who lives inside each believer. When Jesus went to be with the Father, the Holy Spirit was sent to live in the heart of every believer. (John 15:26-27; Acts 2:1-4; John 16:8; Acts 2:38)

  • JESUS

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son. We believe that He lived on this earth as a man yet was without sin (God in flesh). We believe He died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead three days later and now sits at the right hand of God the Father. We believe in the incarnation of Jesus, the eternal aspects of His existence and the wonderful sacrifice He made for us at the Cross.
    (John 1:1; Matt. 1:18; Rom. 3:23-26; John 10:30)

  • LORDS SUPPER

We believe in celebrating as believers the Lord’s Supper or communion. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is symbolic in that the bread represents the broken body of Jesus and the cup represents His blood in the new covenant that cleanses us from all sin. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is done in remembrance of our Lord’s death, burial, resurrection, and His promised coming again. We believe that the bread and the cup are merely symbols and that they do not turn into the actual body and blood of Christ. We believe that when we partake in the Lord’s Supper it is for all Christians and not just members of this church.
    (Matt. 26:26-30; I Corinthians 11:23-26)

  • MARRIAGE AND FAMILY

We believe that marriage is defined by God as one man and one woman freely and totally given to one another for a lifetime. We believe God ordained marriage between one man and one woman for the purpose of companionship, love and support for one another. God also ordained marriage for the purpose of multiplying and creating a family unit.
    (Gen. 2:21-25; Gen. 1:22; Eph. 5:22-33; Eph. 6:1-4)

  • SALVATION

We believe that salvation is only obtained by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, God’s Son. In order to receive the gift of salvation, an individual must:

    1. Realize he/she is a sinner (Rom. 3:23)
    2. Realize that Jesus is the ONLY WAY for salvation to be obtained (John 14:6)
    3. Realize that salvation is God’s free gift to you and that one cannot earn it (Rom. 6:23)
    4. Repent and ask Jesus Christ to come into your life to be your Savior (Rom. 10:9,11)
